DRT was founded in 1949 by Ermal Fraze who invented the easy-open end technology for the can industry.
DRT´s corporate headquarters, engineering, manufacturing and assembly facilities are located in Dayton, Ohio, USA.

More than ten years ago DRT decided to build a manufacturing facility in Europe and chose Braunschweig as location, a stronghold of the metal packaging industry in Germany at the time.
Since 1991 precision tools have been manufactured in Braunschweig. Continuous investment into latest machine technology and the use of high quality material provide the customers with the precision products they demand.

Today a wide range of applications is served. Precision tooling such as

cutting/punching tools, forming tools, jigs and templates

are manufactured for:

- the packaging industry
- medical and technical sector
- the automotive industry
- the aerospace industry
- the telecommunication industry
